The Future Simple Tense
How to talk about the future!
What is the Future Simple?
We use the Future Simple tense to talk about things that haven't happened yet. We mostly use "will" and "be going to".
Structure: WILL
                        Positive (+)
Subject + will + Verb (base form)
"I will call you tomorrow."
Negative (-)
Subject + will not (won't) + Verb
"She will not (won't) be late."
Question (?)
Will + Subject + Verb?
"Will they come to the party?"
Structure: BE GOING TO
                        Positive (+)
Subject + am/is/are + going to + Verb
"It is going to rain."
Negative (-)
Subject + am/is/are + not + going to + Verb
"We are not going to watch a movie."
Question (?)
Am/Is/Are + Subject + going to + Verb?
"Are you going to study for the test?"
When to use WILL
                    1. Quick Decisions
For decisions made at the moment of speaking.
"The phone is ringing. I'll get it!"
2. Predictions (based on opinion)
When you think or believe something about the future.
"I think it will rain tomorrow."
3. Promises or Offers
To promise something or offer help.
"I won't tell anyone your secret."
"I'll help you with your bags."
When to use BE GOING TO
                    1. Future Plans
For plans and intentions you decided *before* speaking.
"I am going to visit my cousins next weekend." (I planned this last week).
2. Predictions (based on evidence)
When you can see evidence *now* that something will happen.
"Look at those dark clouds! It is going to rain."
