1. AFFIRMATIVE FORM

Rule:
Subject + base verb (add -s/-es for he/she/it)
Examples:

  • I go to school at 8.

  • She plays football on Sundays.

  • They watch TV every evening.

 Exercise A – Fill in the blanks (Affirmative)

Instructions: Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb.

  1. He __________ (eat) breakfast at 7 a.m.

  2. I __________ (walk) to school.

  3. She __________ (like) chocolate.

  4. They __________ (study) English on Monday.

  5. My brother __________ (watch) cartoons.


2. ❌ NEGATIVE FORM

Rule:
Subject + do not (don’t) / does not (doesn’t) + base verb
Examples:

  • I don’t like spinach.

  • She doesn’t go to the gym.

  • They don’t play video games.

⚠ Note: No -s with base verb in the negative form.

 Exercise B – Correct the sentences (Negative)

Instructions: Rewrite the sentences in the negative form.

  1. He eats fish. → __________________________

  2. I play tennis. → __________________________

  3. She drinks coffee. → __________________________

  4. We go to school on Sunday. → __________________________

  5. It rains every day. → __________________________


3. ❓ INTERROGATIVE FORM

Rule:
Do/Does + subject + base verb
Examples:

  • Do you like pizza?

  • Does she play the piano?

  • Do they live in Rabat?

 Exercise C – Make questions (Interrogative)

Instructions: Form correct questions using the Present Simple.

  1. you / speak / English → __________________________

  2. she / go / to school by bus → __________________________

  3. they / play / football on Friday → __________________________

  4. your father / work / in a bank → __________________________

  5. it / rain / in summer → __________________________


Exercise D – Choose the correct answer

Instructions: Choose the correct form of the verb.

  1. My sister (like / likes) swimming.

  2. I (don’t / doesn’t) eat fish.

  3. (Do / Does) your friends play music?

  4. We (watch / watches) a movie every weekend.

  5. (Do / Does) she have a bike?


Ask your partner about their daily routine using the Present Simple. Example questions:

  • What time do you wake up?

  • Do you eat breakfast?

  • Does your mother work?

  • What do you do in the evening?


Write:

  • One affirmative sentence

  • One negative sentence

  • One question using the Present Simple

Example:
✔ I study English.
✘ I don’t play video games.
❓ Do you like football?

Write a short paragraph (4–5 sentences) about your daily routine using the Present Simple tense.
